-- Eleven student-athletes from five universities – including four from
Atlantic Sun Conference regular season champion Campbell – have been named to
the 2008 North Carolina Collegiate Sports
Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State
Men’s Soccer Team.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Eleven student-athletes from five schools form the 2008 North
Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division
All-State Women’s Soccer Team.
Charlotte
heads the All-State Team with four student-athletes, while Wake Forest
and UNC Greensboro both have two selections. Charlotte
junior Hailey Beam (pictured left), a midfielder from Cornelius,
N.C. and sophomore Whitney Weinraub, a forward
from Holland, PA, both picked up the most votes at their respective
positions. UNC Wilmington’s defender Kelly Renkin picked up the most votes by a
defender while UNC Greensboro’s Kelsey Kearney was selected as the All-State
goalkeeper. Renkin is a two-time All-State selection. While Wake Forest’s
Kaley Fountain and Jill Hutchinson and Davidson’s Kyri Bye-Nagel were repeat
All-State selections after making the 2007 All-State team.

Raleigh, N.C. –
Eleven student-athletes representing six institutions were selected to the
sixth annual North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA)
College Division All-State women’s soccer team. Senior forward Melanie Cobb
(pictured right) from the University of North Carolina Pembroke was the only
unanimous pick. Returners from last year’s
NCCSIA All State honorees include defender Alyssa Schoenberg of Catawba College
and midfielders Alex Calvert of Meredith College and Tessa Hall of Greensboro
College.

(NCCSIA) is soliciting nominations for its 2008 All-State Volleyball Teams
through Dec. 10. All of the state's sports information directors are
encouraged to nominate worthy candidates from their schools.
